Arrests in Baltimore for illegal guns often lead to dropped charges or little jail time

6. 'Blade II' (2002)

The best part of genre, the part that suggests the richness in a genre: the unappreciated gem. Most of the classic westerns of Anthony Mann might fit this bill, as would Kevin Costner's "Open Range." Indeed, an filmmaker thoughtfully plying pulp material with a reverence that will undoubtedly be seen as misplaced can be a moving sight. You can tell the difference between a filmmaker slumming it and one -- in this case, baroque stylist Guillermo del Toro -- who takes no job lightly. (Though if you argue most American studio films now are genre films, A-budgeted B-movies, this is all redundant.)
