"FINALLY!" I am sure my household was not the only one to yell that during this week's episode. It was the moment most of us had been waiting for all season, and I for one had given up hope that the magical kiss would happen anytime soon.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves, though this episode was not as action-packed as recent episodes, it set the stage for what should be a pretty fantastic season finale.
First off, Daniel. I hope he never ends up in politics, because he changes his mind on which of his parents he is behind more than a politician changes their stance on campaign issues. Not so long ago he had sworn to spy on Conrad on behalf of Victoria (isn't that the only reason that he is working at Grayson Global?).
Now he has chosen Conrad as his ally, but is managing to guilt trip Victoria into things by keeping some allegiance to her. Maybe he and Emily have more in common than I initially thought.
While the elder Graysons were distracted, Charlotte missed Declan, which confused me because wasn't she so rude to him in last week's episode? I continue to feel sorry for that poor girl, no matter how high she gets, and I wish that someone would have explained that things are not how they appear with the 'girl from Yonkers!' Also, who chooses a bar for a study date? Yes, it is his house, but certainly that school has a library that would be a bit more convenient.
Now for the questions — most of which revolve around "the white haired man." Who is he working for? Certainly he has a tie with terrorists, but the way they refer to him and his group it makes it sound like a much bigger conspiracy and hidden group than originally anticipated. The white haired man also has some background working with Jack Bauer on 24, so this wouldn't exactly be surprising.
Also, why couldn't Emily and Nolan come up with a better nickname than "the white haired man." They've managed to get this far in plotting, yet lack basic creativity. And Nolan, I love how he has grown throughout the season and has taken on the role of Emily's big brother, so I am hoping he is just in some sort of sleeper hold and manages to use his scrawny body to his advantage and sneak away. Fingers crossed.
As we anticipate the excitement of next week's finale, let's all take a moment of silence for dear Sammy. Somehow the death of this poor pup represents a new beginning for Emily, and the realization of her love for Jack, and finally allowed some sparks to fly.
Due to the vague nature of ages on this show, I have to estimate Sammy was at least 20 years old, so cheers to you, Sammy — you managed to live twice as long as the average yellow lab.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
