After last week’s heartfelt speech, Tamra invites Lydia over for a light snack and a glass of pink lemonade. Lydia expresses her interest in wanting Tamra to make a bold move and make up with Alexis, then suggests that perhaps just the three of them can sit down and talk over lunch. Tamra knows that this gesture is the right thing to do, even though it will be hard and will take a lot of courage.
Meanwhile, Gretchen and Heather meet to discuss plans for Tamra’s surprise bachelorette party in Mexico. Ideas for this celebratory weekend quickly clash when Heather recommends a classy, formal dinner and an elegant spa-and-shopping day. Gretchen, on the other hand, wants strippers.
They shop for presents for the bride-to-be and find themselves looking for customized swimsuits. Opinions conflict again when Gretchen selects the skimpy, flashy bikinis for Tamra, while Heather’s choices are a little tamer.
Vicki and Alexis meet up. Vicki expresses her nervousness about attending the Mexico trip but feels obligated to go to support Tamra. Alexis tells Vicki that Tamra called and invited her to lunch. The news that Tamra would call Alexis and not yell at her shocks Vicki just as much as it did Alexis. A for effort for Tamra!
Lydia hopes Tamra is on her best behavior as Alexis joins them for what is sure to be one awkward and uncomfortable lunch. Tamra greets Alexis with a warm smile and a welcome hug, which catches Alexis off guard.
Tamra immediately admits that her inappropriate actions the night of her fitness-center party were both impulsive and explosive. Her sincere apology brings Alexis to tears. Tamra confesses that she never intended on hurting Alexis as much as she has.
After a peaceful and productive lunch, Tamra and Alexis agree to keep their reconciled friendship between the two of them for now and not to alert the rest of the group of this lunch until later. Tamra states that she is not going to be best friends with Alexis, but that living with the anger and hostility was not healthy.
Gretchen and Lauri have a bizarre friendship; they know each other through mutual friends and because Lauri and Slade used to bang. While catching up, Gretchen asks Lauri if she still sees or talks to Vicki -- which opens up a whole can of worms.
Lauri says Vicki has been hopping from guy to guy to guy to guy over the last 12 years and claims she knows a lot of secrets about Vicki that no one else knows. Lauri tells Gretchen personal stories about Vicki, like the time she was in Greece and came back with a “Grecian God” with no teeth.
Hearing all these anecdotes about “Vicki the hypocrite” makes Gretchen livid. She doesn’t know what shocks her more: that Vicki was having affairs with a bunch of men while she was married, or that men wanted to have an affair with Vicki.
Lauri continues to make jabs against Vicki by telling Gretchen that she caught Vicki in bed with another woman, both in bed with another man. It seems to me this Vicki-bashing is just a bitter Lauri trying to seek revenge on her former friend. Gretchen can’t promise to keep all of this private information to herself, especially with the big Mexico trip coming up.
As the ladies begin to pack for Mexico, the thought of strippers seems to be on everyone’s mind. Heather tells Terry that she will see a stripper and doesn’t know what to expect. She loves Terry but he is no Magic Mike.
Lydia has never seen a stripper and has no desire to ever see a stripper in her life. She is nervous about the weekend trip because of how wild the girls are known to get. She has two boys, a dog and a husband -- which, in her Christian eyes, is enough penis in her life to keep her satisfied.
Tamra doesn’t like surprises and hates that she doesn’t know what to pack. She doesn’t want to go somewhere cold and hopes Gretchen planned somewhere warm and tropical.
As the women begin to meet up, Gretchen quickly becomes annoyed with Vicki after noticing that she purchased many of the same bachelorette-themed toys and decorations as she did. Vicki is confused as to why Gretchen thinks it is a competition. “This is a bachelorette party. She can drink out of more than one penis cup.”
Tamra is relieved to find out they are going to Mexico. She wants to drink and have fun and is ready to party. Lydia wonders what is wrong with all these middle-aged, well-respected women acting immature and crazy. Vicki is ready to “whoop it up” and claims Mexico is the best place to get wild. Gretchen has a hard time keeping in her sarcastic comments as Vicki jokes about getting rowdy with Mexican men.
The girls finally arrive ar the resort and have to rush to get ready for dinner. The group begins to question Heather’s choice of restaurant when no one knows what is on the menu. The restaurant is quiet and tranquil and not exactly what the girls were thinking of for this wild weekend.
The group complains and sits miserably through dinner. Lydia, who was worried about the trip being out of control and crazy, is surprised that it is the exact opposite.
Vicki literally drags Lydia and Tamra to her favorite hot spot while Gretchen and Heather are in the bathroom. Just like old times, Vicki and Tamra enjoy the night and have a blast with Lydia as they stumble through the streets of Mexico. Stuck behind at the restaurant, Heather and Gretchen wait anxiously in the limo and become infuriated with the other girls for leaving them.
Next week, the party in Mexico continues with fights, fun, drama and, yes, MEXICAN STRIPPERS!
