Episode 6 starts with Lydia joining Heather and Tamra for a champagne lunch. Heather wants to build a relationship with Lydia and doesn’t want to lump her into a category just because she hangs out Alexis.
Tamra compares Alexis to a little puppy that needs to be guided and helped and then when you turn around it craps on the floor. Tamra declares she doesn’t hate Alexis she just feels sorry for her and hates the way Alexis flaunts her wealth. Tamra and Heather appreciate Lydia’s ability to open up and be honest which allows them to bond.
Alexis and Jim talk about Vicki and her upcoming date with Brooks. Alexis is sympathetic toward Vicki claiming she has been in the same position as she is now. Alexis finally owns up and admits that she had no right attending Tamra’s party.
Being the religious woman she is, Alexis has a hard time staying true to her roots and doesn’t have the heart to forgive and forget the troubling scars Tamra has left. She realizes that she is taking the “turn the other cheek” scripture a little too literally and learns that she needs to stand up for herself in order to stop putting herself in these bullying predicaments.
Emotions run high in the garage when Vicki and Ryan share feelings about Brooks. Vicki stands up to Ryan and tells him he needs to respect her decisions. By the end of their conversation, Vicki is extremely frustrated and discouraged and has every right to be. Ryan is trying to be overprotective and controlling and after Vicki confronts him, he storms away. I didn’t think renting a bedroom in your mother-in-law’s house entitled you to make all the decisions for the household. Way to go Vicki for standing up for yourself!
Lydia’s mother Judy, who also happens to be a client of Terry Dubrow, is a complete lunatic. She sprinkles fairy dust on everyone to make them happy and Lydia admits her mom tripped on acid and smoked way too much pot and at one point in her life thought she was a tree ... ummmm what?? This explains a lot. Apparently Lydia has a family history of crazies.
Knowing her mom was stoned, Lydia would take advantage of her drugged mother by taking her shopping to buy whatever she wanted while she was under the influence. Lesson learned — don’t smoke and shop … it gets pricey.
Gretchen and Slade try to discuss having children of their own which is a sore subject with everything Slade and his son are going through. Tension is in the air and Gretchen feels selfish even thinking about children when Slade is going through this challenging time in his life. Slade reassures her that they shouldn’t bring their plans and future to a halt just because of this unfortunate situation and that they need to live in the moment.
Heather’s agent Ben calls with excellent news during a shopping excursion with Tamra. He has a straight offer available for Heather as a guest starring role on the popular sitcom “Hot in Cleveland.” Filled with joy, Heather calls Terry to tell him the exciting update and he is extremely supportive of Heather to join the all-star cast of the show.
At dinner later that evening, Terry jokes around with Heather which leads to an argument in front of their children. An infuriated Heather just wants to have her moment and for Terry to be happy for her and her wonderful offer. Terry tells her to lighten up, but based off the evil glance she gives him, I’d say he better fix the problem quick.
Vicki and Brooks have a “date” night. They care for and love each other but they are not dating. Vicki wants him back in her life but after an emotionally removed Brooks states that he has been dating other people, she doesn’t know who he is anymore. Brooks wants someone who can be with him 100 percent and says Ryan and Briana changed that aspect of their relationship. Vicki is torn between choosing between her love for her children and her love for Brooks.
Lydia and her stoner mom celebrate a record long three months of being pot-free over lunch, “sparkly” water and good conversation. Judy would rather be in the magical land of bunnies rather than in reality, but has made a commitment to stay drug free for her daughter.
Next week: Tamra takes the group of ladies for a wine tasting, Terry mentions the “D” word – Divorce and Tamra & Vicki continue to bicker over stupid things.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
