Frederick's Flying Dog beer makes it to 'True Blood'

Who knew the characters of "True Blood" had such good taste in beer?

On last night's episode (the ninth of Season 6, titled "Life Matters"), Frederick's Flying Dog Brewery's Raging Bitch, a Belgian-style India pale ale, was written into a scene (which can be viewed at the top of this post; warning — it contains explicit language) by name.

"Quite a few of their writers are craft beer fans and our Raging Bitch was written into the script — organic, not paid placement," said Erin Weston, Flying Dog's director of communications, in an email message.

In the scene, character Sam Merlotte describes the beer as "pretty f---ing good," and we tend to agree. Last October, b named it the eighth best beer brewed in Maryland.

Excepting the opening scene, "Life Matters" consisted of exactly two plot lines: The resolution of Billith's vision of the vampires meeting the sun and the vampires' subsequent takeover of vamp camp, and Terry Bellefleur's funeral.
