Anna Trebunskaya and Carson Kressley

Anna Trebunskaya and Carson Kressley (ABC)

"DWTS" showed signs of diversification tonight with a fun performance by a guest krumper. That's standard fare for Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance?" (love that show!) but not what I'm used to on a ballroom show.

Another guest performer, Kelly Clarkson, joked about her inability to dance and that she'd turn the show into a comedy. Host Tom Bergeron countered with, "We could teach you." Hmm, foreshadowing season 14?

My anticipated bottom three were: Carson Kressley, Chaz Bono and Nancy Grace. Shows how much I know!

Carson, who had the lowest score from the judges with a 19, was up for elimination. But he was joined by Hope Solo and David Arquette.

Hope surprised me tonight. I wasn't completely shocked that she landed in the bottom three, but I was surprised by her emotional reaction since she's a dancer whom I always assumed viewed the competition as a lark. But she broke down in tears in her post-show interview, saying she felt her efforts were never "enough" and that she wasn't sure she wanted to continue on the show.

But Hope's fans pulled her through. And so did David's.

Sadly, it is Carson who leaves the show tonight. He isn't a technically proficient dancer, but he is a great entertainer.

But he's got big plans, don't worry. As he signed off the show: "This week, Dancing With the Stars. Next week, governor of Texas." So, watch out Rick Perry!
