"Beijing 2008"

The official game of the last summer Olympics boasts many firsts. It was the first Olympic game to feature online play, the first to feature real athletes on the cover, the first on the current generation of consoles and the first to have a complementary game, "Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games," a fantasy version featuring the popular video game characters. It didn't break a lot of new ground in the gameplay department, but it did break the barrier for judo and table tennis to be included in an Olympic video game. Sadly, the elaborate opening ceremonies of the 2008 Games aren't represented in their full bizarre splendor.
