No. 20: Flying Dog Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout( Handout / March 27, 2014 )
$8.59/6-pack, 5.5 percent ABV
Originally a limited-edition beer but now available year-round, this stout (brewed with actual oysters from the Rappahannock River ... seriously) looks darker than it tastes. Stout fans will appreciate the initial hints of chocolate and coffee, but it's the Pearl Necklace's smooth finish that will surprise beer drinkers. Feel-good bonus: Proceeds benefit the Oyster Recovery Partnership, which in turn helps the Chesapeake Bay.
Drink this: When you want to feel like you're helping the world, while also getting drunk.
