Like/dislike: Em Waymire

At night, Em Waymire, 22, undergoes a spooky transformation. She becomes Ann, a creepy and comical ghost. After growing up in Deale, and graduating from Frostburg State University in 2010 with a degree in theater, Waymire decided to move to the heart of downtown Annapolis where she found herself a peculiar job as a tour guide for Watermark’s Haunted Ghost Tour. Throughout the fall she takes the brave to explore some of Annapolis’ most eerie legends, including the infamous William Paca House, which boasts a scary “sick room” legend and was featured on A&E’s “Psychic Kids.” Waymire will soon be moving to Washington to pursue her acting career, but before she goes she tells b what she really thinks about Ke$ha, Uggs and more of life’s truly bizarre fads.

Worst pet peeve? Not being able to escape repetitive noises. Dripping or clicking sounds drive me insane!

What's on your iPod? The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime, Incubus, 30 Seconds to Mars, Halestorm

What song are you hating/loving right now? I am absolutely loving “That Fire” by Black Tide at the moment. It reminds me that rock music has a chance to make a comeback. However, “Pumped Up Kicks” by Foster the People will make me turn the radio off at record speed.

Last concert/gig you went to? The Big Dub Candy Mountain rave in Artemas, Pa.

Your worst habit? Smoking has to be my absolute worst habit. I can't remember when I began, but I am finally starting to quit.

Trend that has exceeded its natural lifespan? Indie-folk rock. But I have to say I never liked it to begin with.

Best/worst Halloween costume idea? The worst Halloween costume is definitely when people dress up as politicians and wear the cheesy masks. I never enjoy seeing Barack Obama at a Halloween party.

Last movie you liked/disliked? The last movie that I saw that I liked was “Captain America.” It did the comics absolute justice and it really got me excited for “The Avengers” movie next year.

Last video that made you snort with laughter? Ke$ha’s music video for her song “Blow.” I won't go into great detail, but it involves shooting unicorns bursting with rainbows with laser beams. So epic.

TV shows you can't get enough of? “Dexter” has to be the best show on television in my opinion right now. It is full of intelligence, suspense and some of the best acting out there. Why watch a reality show when you can get a real performance from Michael C. Hall?

Favorite book you recently read? My favorite book series is the “Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter” series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Unlike recent vampire fiction, Hamilton’s vampires go back to classic horror with a twist of mystery. Her latest book,“Hit List,” is my favorite read of the summer.

Last great meal you had? The best place in my area is the Cuban restaurant Paladar. No matter how many times I go back and try to order something else, I have to go with the rum glazed Cuban pork with coconut and mango rice.

Food you hate? I really cannot stand pizza.

Favorite place to get a drink? I don't drink. But when I went out with friends that did, it was The Black Hole in Dundalk.

Favorite and most loathed fashion statements? I love bell-bottoms. But I hate Uggs.

Favorite quote/saying? “A scattered dream that's like a far-off memory. A far-off memory that's like a scattered dream. I want to line the pieces up — yours and mine.” — Sora from the video game “Kingdom Hearts.”

Creepiest building/spot in Maryland? It would be a tie between the William Paca House and Garden and its neighbor, the Brice House in downtown Annapolis. They are so full of history and have been standing for hundreds of years. When I started working for Watermark I was skeptical about how haunted these buildings might be. But there is an energy around those two buildings that you just can't understand. It's nearly uncomfortable to be around them late at night because it really is very eerie.
