After working in the buying offices at Nordstrom and Hecht's in D.C., she decided it was time to come back to her home city. In 2007 she opened Babe, which carries hand-picked clothing and accessories from popular brands such as BCBGeneration and Ella Moss, and even items from obscure labels such as Vintage Havana and Wooden Ships. After four years and a move from Federal Hill to Fells Point, business is still going strong and Ponzoli couldn't be happier with the support she's had from Baltimore shoppers. Here, she talks to b about everything from bad drivers to the most comfortable jeans ever.
Worst pet peeve? Terrible drivers, which basically means anyone but me
Your worst habit? Being impatient
Trend that has exceeded its natural lifespan? Everyone thought that skinny jeans would die a quick death, but they are here to stay. And we should all be thankful because it adds variety to our wardrobes. Options are key!
Last movie you liked/disliked? "The Ides of March" ... awesome.
TV shows you can't get enough of? "Parenthood," "Pan Am," "The Colbert Report"
Last great meal you had? Stuffed shells in the comfort of my own home
Food you hate? Mushrooms
Favorite way to relax? On my couch with my pets!
Favorite quote/saying? "It is what it is." While most people loathe this statement, I can find no better way to convey that you have no control over the situation and just need to roll with the punches.
Favorite fashion icon? Kate Moss. I love her effortless, casual style.
Best source of inspiration? Working out gets me all jazzed up.
Your best fashion find ever? DL1961 Jeans. They fit every body shape and are super-comfortable.
Favorite clothing style? For others: bohemian chic. For me: casual-chic and comfy.
Favorite store besides Babe? Curiosity in Federal Hill
Favorite thing about Baltimore? The people. I have always found it easy to find good people to surround myself with.
