Nothing says old fashioned and simple quite like the Hot Toddy.
Whether you're using it to treat your flu or cold symptoms (not doctor recommended, but probably by your grandmother) or preparing to hit the hay, it's the perfect evening drink. Thames Street Oyster House makes theirs with a light flavor and a local twist.

To wit, the Thames Street Toddy is composed of Maryland's crown jewel of rye whiskey Pikesville Rye, mint, lemon and sweet orange tea — and it's the pinnacle of relaxing.
It's also not too alcoholic, sporting just a shot of rye and a soothing blend of flavors to help anyone with a sore throat or pent-up work frustrations to unwind.
Whereas the Hot Toddy is British (or possibly Scottish) in origin, the alcoholic ingredients differ by region. In the Midwest, bourbon is the preferred spirit with a bit of ginger ale as a mixer in addition. Other variations include brandy, port, cinnamon sticks and cloves.
And now with the usage of Maryland's own Pikesville Rye, with its own distinct flavor profile, this region has a Hot Toddy all its own in the Thames Street Toddy.
How to make the Thames Street Toddy
1 1/2 oz. Pikesville Rye
2 mint leaves, bruised
1 oz. sweet orange tea
Hot water to fill
Combine all ingredients in an after dinner glass or coffee mug of your choice.
