Like/Dislike: Katie O. Solomon, actor

In Iron Crow Theatre's latest production, "Bad Panda," running through Saturday at Theatre Project, Katie O. Solomon plays Marion, a panda on the verge of motherhood with the other last panda on earth.

That male panda falls in love with a gay crocodile. "The play is very witty and fast paced but more challenging is the fact that I am a panda," said Solomon, 24, who lives in Mount Washington, where she also grew up. Learning panda movements? Solomon did it. But she's always been devoted to the craft.

Since graduating from Towson University (summa cum laude!), Solomon has been steadily acting in the Baltimore area with Generous Company, Iron Crow and Stillpointe Theatre Initiative, where's she's a founding company member.

Solomon put down the bamboo to talk to us about her dream part, ugly high heels and more.

Worst pet peeve? I hate it when people chew ice. I also don't like drinking out of plastic cups. It weirds me out. I have a ton of other weird things, but I don't want to come off as a creep. (I am creepy, but Baltimore doesn't need to know.)

What song are you hating/loving right now? I sort of love and hate all popular music equally. But I'm kinda over anything Pitbull does. You can't rhyme KODAK with KODAK. That's not a rhyme, that's saying the same word twice.

Your worst habit? I bite my cuticles. I don't know why I do it, it hurts every time I do. But I do it anyway.

Trend that has exceeded its natural lifespan? Those ugly high heels that have the platform in the front and a 6- or 7-inch heel in the back.

Part you want to play one day? This is an unfair question, because there are so many parts I want to play. But I'd love to play Marie Antoinette in any capacity. I think I was her in a past life.

TV shows you can't get enough of? "American Horror Story," "The Walking Dead" and "Downton Abbey." Oh, and "Game of Thrones." And "Dexter." Seriously, I could go on and on.

Best part of working with Iron Crow Theatre? The Crows are some of the coolest, most passionate, loving people. They allow an actor to explore and experiment in a safe and creative environment.

Food you hate? Seafood, hon. I am a born and raised Baltimore girl, but I do not like any type of seafood.

Last great meal you had? Alchemy in Hampden. Have you HAD their Bloody Mary's?

Favorite and most loathed fashion statements? I loved classic, tailored lines. Most Loathed? People who don't dress for their body type.

Best advice you ever got? My parents are wonderful and always taught me to be a kind person. Even further, kindness is essential for me in this industry.

Favorite thing about Baltimore? You can be anything you want here because Baltimore feels so different in all it's different parts.
