"Fashion fades, style is eternal," Yves Saint Laurent said. For trendsetters like 31-year-old fashion designer Daniel Parsons, those are words to live by.
Parsons, who lives in East Baltimore, was the winner of the Urban Designer title at last year's Fashion Awards MD and has been nominated again for this year's competition. He will present his line, titled Certified Fly, at the awards, held Saturday at the Brown Center (for more information, go to fashionawardsmd.com) .
Parsons started designing in high school and debuted his collection three years ago at Federal Hill boutique LoveLace Showroom. "Fashion is my passion. I eat, sleep and breathe it," he said. Winning the Urban Designer award gave Parsons the confidence to make the hardest decision of his life: to let go of his 9-to-5 job to pursue a career in design.
Before he competes to keep his title, Parsons talked to us about his favorite fashion statement, best summer fashion trends and more.
