Thanks to the Baltimore Ravens' Super Bowl run, Katrina Carter is on an emotional high. And yes, those are her words.
"This season has defintely been an emotional rollercoaster. I win with the team and lose with the team," said the 30-year-old Frederick resident. "Each year all I would say I want for my birthday is for the Ravens to play in the Super Bowl. And after 12 years, to finally get to cheer them on ... I'm beyond ecstatic!"
Carter hasn't missed watching a Ravens game in more than eight years. Before she bought her home, she had to make sure there was ample basement space to display her Ravens decor and memorabilia. Attention real-estate agents: This is a thing.
And when she's not working as an office manager for a consulting firm, Carter blogs for B'more Chix (bmorechix.com), writing about anything and everything Ravens. Carter chatted with us about the most exciting moment of the season, her love for Suggs and more.
Worst pet peeve? I take sports pretty seriously and it drives me crazy when I'm either listening to people talk about sports but the people that are speaking have no idea what they are talking about.
Your worst habit? Turning every conversation into something sports related. Sometimes I feel like I need to get out of my box and move away from all of the constant sports talk.
Most exciting moment of this Ravens season? The Flacco Fling to Jacoby Jones in the divisional playoff game against the Broncos.
Trend that has exceeded its natural lifespan? I absolutely think Crocs need to go.
What sets Ravens fans apart from other team fans? Ravens fans are tougher than any other fans. Our team constantly undergoes scrutiny from the talking heads around the country and just like our team, we fight back and prove all the doubters wrong.
Last great meal you had? I went to a steakhouse last Friday for my birthday and had a perfect steak and potatoes meal.
Favorite purple accessory? Outside of my jerseys, I love my purple Ravens argyle socks.
Favorite place to get a drink? I enjoy going to Brewers Alley in Frederick. They produce all of their own beer on site so you can enjoy good beer while watching the game on one of several televisions.
Best advice you ever got? Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of the rest.
Favorite thing about Baltimore? It would definitely have to be the sports atmosphere, but while I love the Ravens and going to M&T, I'm not really a fan of the cold. So I love spending the warm summer days relaxing at Camden Yards soaking up the sun and drinking beer.
