Fans waiting impatiently for the ever-in-gestation "Ghostbusters 3" can take solace in something that may be even better.
"Ghostbusters" Night at the Windup Space (8 p.m. Thursday, 12 W. North Ave., no cover), will, yes, involve screenings of both films. But it will also include "Ghostbusters"-related stand-up comedy and a performance from what could probably be the best band ever — the Proton Pack, playing all songs from the "Ghostbusters" films.
Kristina Green, 25, who will host with Johnny Marra, said the event came out of an online conversation with people who had attended previous theme nights at Windup Space. "We joked about a 'Ghostbusters' night, but little did I know that in the following weeks I would be approached in person about it constantly and asked when it was actually happening." So, thank you, people who bugged Green about it. We owe you one.
Before the big night, Green, who lives in Fort Howard, talked to us about intentional slobs, the "Ghostbusters" character she most relates to and more.
Worst pet peeve? When people say they ain't afraid of no ghosts when they clearly are.
Your worst habit? Losing track of time.
Trend that has exceeded its natural lifespan? Please stop making everything steampunk. PLEASE.
Last movie you liked/disliked? Liked: "John Dies at the End." It's a supernatural mess of a movie (and book) and it suits my love of paranormal nonsense and my 12-year-old sense of humor perfectly. I don't want to say I disliked "The Hobbit," but I kind of do. Three movies just seems extremely unnecessary.
TV show you can't get enough of? There's a British show called "Misfits" ... about a group of kids on community service who get superpowers. Everything about it is perfect.
Favorite and least favorite fashion statement? I think my least favorite thing about fashion would be anyone who puts too much effort into looking like a slob. I unintentionally dress like a slob, so I'm not sure what that says about me.
Favorite place to get a drink in Baltimore? I love the Windup Space, which is why it's perfect for this event. I fell in love with it when I noticed that the stage was Black Lodge from Twin Peaks.
Best advice you ever got? There's always room for Jell-O.
"Ghostbusters" character you relate to most? Venkman. I'm sorry, it's everyone's answer. But we're both slackers, and kind of a--holes with hearts of gold.
Most underappreciated "Ghostbusters" character? Winston. He's always forgotten, yet he's the most sane out of the four of them.
Favorite thing about Baltimore? The day after Halloween, when everyone was talking about how sad they were it was over, I remember saying, "The best thing about Baltimore is that it's basically Halloween every day."
