“I’m going to ask some of you guys a random question, so please don’t freak out when you hear me call your name.” Thanks for that disclaimer Carson; you saved the contestants and all of us at home from pre-results freak outs.
After a night of hot performances, The Voice was back with a/c, and suspense, as the coaches and their teammates learned who will move on to the top 10.
But not before a performance from Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams and T.I. The trio performed the hit “Blurred Lines,” featuring two of the competitions contestants: Vedo and Kris Thomas.
We also learned some little known facts about the contestants. Danielle Bradbery likes to take the occasional “selfie,” Judith Hill sings about farts, Colton Swon likes to walk around with the occasional bottle of Purell, and if you’re looking for something to do this summer, you can go to the New York Renaissance Fair and learn archery from Garrett Gardner.
Sorry sir, but that job just is not cool…
Last night’s results show had enough suspense…my build up ends here. It’s time for the spoiler alerts.
The first two contestants to move on to next week’s show were team Shakira’s Kris Thomas and team Blake’s The Swon Brothers.
Next were team Adam’s Sarah Simmons and team Usher’s Josiah Hawley.
Taking a break from the results, Coach Blake Shelton performed “Play Something” and Team Adam performed “Love Song,” featuring his “Angels”
We learned that America saved team Adam’s Judith Hill, and team Blake’s Danielle Bradbery
American also called their girlfriends/boyfriends and told them to vote for team Usher’s Michelle Chamuel (funny play on words there). America also saved team Adam's Amber Carrington.
Lady Antebellum performed their new hit “Goodbye Town,” featuring team Adam.
As the final four lined up, the suspense in the room built, and no one was prepared to see anyone else go. The last two contestants who moved on to the top 10 were...
Team Blake’s Holly Tucker and team Shakira’s Sasha Allen.
That meant sending team Usher’s R&B superstar Vedo home (which was a personal upset), along with team Shakira’s come-back kid Garrett Allen.
Next week, the top 10 will return with more performances, as well as assistant coaches Pharrell Williams, Hilary Scot, Sheryl Crow and, in place of Joel Madden, former coach CeeLo Green.
