Bourbon is probably the most famous type of American whiskey. It is made with minimum 51-percent corn and must be aged in an unused charred oak barrel. I love a well-aged Bourbon to sip on, either by itself or with a cube of ice in warmer weather. And a great Bourbon doesn't have to break the bank or be aged for decades. The ones I enjoy have a good smoky flavor from the oak, with caramel and vanilla notes winding through the finish. If you make a face with every sip, try a different brand.
