Outdoor summer bars

And yet, in the middle of the sweltering Baltimore summer, there is one reprieve: outdoor bars. With cool breezes and cooler drinks, they're the best of both worlds. All over the city, restaurants and bars have been dusting off their patios and opening their roof decks for the season.<br>

In <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100603011100" title="Fells Point" href="/topic/us/maryland/baltimore-county/baltimore/fells-point-PLGEO100100603011100.topic">Fells Point</a>, Woody's Rum Bar and Island Grill has a great view of the harbor. Farther north, the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100603012300" title="Mount Washington" href="/topic/us/maryland/baltimore-county/baltimore/mount-washington-PLGEO100100603012300.topic">Mount Washington</a> Tavern has opened its Sky Bar. <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100603010600" title="Canton (Baltimore, Maryland)" href="/topic/us/maryland/baltimore-county/baltimore/canton-%28baltimore-maryland%29-PLGEO100100603010600.topic">Canton</a>'s Bay Cafe has sand and palm trees, and the Tiki Barge is as close as you can get to the harbor without diving in.<br>

These five bars are some of Baltimore's better spots to sit outside on a summer night and take long, cool sips from a tall, cold beverage.

In Fells Point, Woody's Rum Bar and Island Grill has a great view of the harbor. Farther north, the Mount Washington Tavern has opened its Sky Bar. Canton's Bay Cafe has sand and palm trees, and the Tiki Barge is as close as you can get to the harbor without diving in.

These five bars are some of Baltimore's better spots to sit outside on a summer night and take long, cool sips from a tall, cold beverage.

No High Topps???? Great outdoor vibe, cheap drinks, good bar food, and they do a good job booking musicians who do solid covers. One of my favorite places to unwind when the weather is nice. Maybe it didn't qualify because it's not within the city.

I think one of the best outdoor bars that was not mentioned is Little Havana--great view of the harbor, great food, and large space. Also, I havent been to the Mt Washington Sky bar in a few years, but I remember Thurs/Fri/Sat nights being full of fratty 20 somethings, beer pong and lots of ski ball....guessing you didnt experience this bc it was a Sunday night-young people are nursing their hangovers and dreading school/work, not going to the tavern.

Baltimore is lacking the "rooftop bar" scene. It is much needed.
