Ah yes, we remember the good ol' days at Preakness.
You know, the golden years when spectators dragged kegs in trash cans to the infield; when the price of a beaded necklace was a simple flash of skin; when winning the Trifecta meant shotgunning a case of beer, booting and then rallying in time to watch the big race.
It's where, for example, Meekah learned that her nose could indeed crack open a cold one. Wesley -- a transplant who missed the wild "glory days" -- had to search "Running of the Urinals" on YouTube to understand the extent of the old debauchery.
Would we be alive if the folks at Pimlico hadn't decided to tone down the hedonism, replacing "Freakness" with "InfieldFest" in 2009? We don't like to think about the odds.
But that doesn't mean that the new celebration, now in its sixth year, isn't worth the gamble. In fact, we're pretty impressed with the lineup of events on tap for the 139th running of the Preakness. And as any Baltimorean will tell you, you can't class us up too much.
The old order might be gone, but never, ever forgotten, as evidenced by our list of 15 things you will definitely see at Preakness. -- By Wesley Case and Meekah Hopkins
