Before you ask -- yes, we know vegetarians. We like vegetarians. Some of our best friends are vegetarians.
This is not for vegetarians.
It is, perhaps, for the exact opposite -- something beyond meat-lovers.
For our second Great Baltimore Meat Up II (copyright pending), we again reached out to area restaurants to offer their best -- and most inventive -- carnivorous creations. And add them to their menus for a month.
With everything from poutine (it's gloriously French-Canadian) and crispy pork belly to barbecue pork corn bread and the ominously named -- but deliciously conceived -- "meat sweats," Baltimore chefs didn't disappoint.
Where does the challenge come in? You, yes you, get to eat them. Try all five dishes in a month and you win a $100 gift card to the Nickel Taphouse where you can, you know, eat more meat. The first reader to send photographic proof of eating each dish by May 23 is the winner (send photos to b editor Jordan Bartel, email@example.com).
Enough talk -- get to eatin'. Pictured: Executive chef Daniel Jacinto at the Nickel Taphouse holds the dish the Loaded Baked Pork-Tato.
