The White Zombie Martini, City Cafe( Jazmine Johnson / Baltimore Sun / October 22, 2013 )
Last year, City Cafe decked its walls with a "Storybook Characters" theme, and featured a Big Bad Wolf cocktail. How do you top that? Well, you head back to prom, that is if your prom was invaded and taken over by zombies.
To go with their undead prom, City Cafe created a White Zombie Martini. The martini incorporates a mix of both pumpkin and chocolate in a way that balances both flavors so seamlessly, it's almost as if they were always meant to be eaten.
The pumpkin flavored vodka has a pumpkin cheesecake undertone, while the Godiva liqueur provides a white chocolate bite. While not your childhood Atomic Fireball candy, the Fireball whiskey puts a bit of heat in every sip to accompany that chocolate taste. The City Car staff then pipes a chocolate spider web on top of the martini to add a festive design to this haunting drink. But fear not, no spiders actually dwell on the chocolaty web. Unless your server gets a bit mischievous.
How to make the White Zombie Martini
1 1/2 oz. Crop organic pumpkin vodka
1 oz. Godiva white chocolate liqueur
1/2 oz. Fireball cinnamon whiskey
Add ingredients to a martini shaker. Shake vigorously with ice, and strain into martini glass. Spider web garnish is made with milk chocolate syrup and "pulled" with a toothpick.
