See what was winning the Oscar in 1929

Paramount studio's "Wings," a World War I aviation drama starring Richard Arlen, Charles "Buddy" Rogers and Clara Bow, won the first-ever Best Picture Oscar in 1929. Check it out -- try Netflix, try the Pratt Library, try Video Americain on Cold Spring Lane. So far, it's the only silent film to win a Best Picture Oscar -- although "The Artist" could become the second, depending on what happens/happened Feb. 26.
