Grammys Our Way: A necessary facelift

Here's some obvious news: the music industry is barely breathing (check the plummeting album and tour sales), but don't tell the Grammys (Sunday, 8 p.m. WJZ/CBS), aka "music's biggest night." That last part is debatable -- each year it seems the award show inches closer to insignificance, with questionable winners (just ask Kanye) and performances that fizzle more than sizzle. Yet no matter how loudly we groan about the increasingly irrelevant show, many of us will still tune in to witness the trainwreck. But does it have to be this way? We at b like to tinker with the status quo, so here's our recalibration of the Grammys, with notes on who should win and what new categories would better fit this annual WTF-show. And follow me on Twitter for thoughts on the show as it happens. WESLEY CASE, B
