Artists often lament that Baltimore is not New York City -- but I'm thankful for it.<br>

We don't have a booming art market here or the international clout that big money brings. We don't have million dollar art auction houses or full-color glossy art magazines. However, in spite of what we do not have, or, perhaps, because of it, Baltimore's art scene teems with thousands of affordable art studios, independent exhibition spaces, creative communities, and offers a myriad of performances, both formal and impromptu.<br>
<br>
In this town, you can be royally entertained all weekend long on a teeny budget -- and you rarely, if ever, have to pay for parking.<br>

Artists often lament that Baltimore is not New York City -- but I'm thankful for it.

We don't have a booming art market here or the international clout that big money brings. We don't have million dollar art auction houses or full-color glossy art magazines. However, in spite of what we do not have, or, perhaps, because of it, Baltimore's art scene teems with thousands of affordable art studios, independent exhibition spaces, creative communities, and offers a myriad of performances, both formal and impromptu.
