Film: Veterans Film Series

Four films that illuminate the experience of battle, chosen to commemorate World War I. Kicks off Oct. 30 with Lewis Milestone’s 1930 pacifist masterpiece, “All Quiet on the Western Front," (pictured) winner of the third-ever Best Picture Oscar, followed by Peter Weir’s 1981 “Galipoli” (Nov. 6), Jonathan Pryce and Jonny Lee Miller in 1997’s “Behind the Lines” (Nov. 13) and 2005’s “Joyeux Noel” (Nov. 20), the story of an impromptu Christmas truce.
