"Pearls on a String: Artists, Patrons, and Poets at the Great Islamic Courts" will present more than 100 paintings, sculptures and ceramics created from the 16th through 18th centuries, and from the Bay of Bengal to the Mediterranean. Museum staff say that what sets this traveling show apart from other exhibits of Islamic art is that “Pearls” emphasizes stories about people. Nov. 8 through Jan. 31 at the Walters Art Museum, 600 N.
