Visual arts: Center for People & Art opening

No longer is it enough to merely look at paintings hanging on a wall. The Baltimore Museum of Art's new, $4.5 million, 5,500-square-foot Center for People & Art will include a studio where visitors can make their own creations. There’s also a gallery and a commons area showcasing a rotating, year-long interactive art project related to a current exhibit. (This year, artist Marian April Glebes will be featured.) The center opens Oct. 25 with a celebration from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the museum, 10 Art Museum Drive. Free. artbma.org. — MCM
