Thanks for getting the word out about how raisins and grapes are toxic to our dogs and cats. Check out www.vinnysquest-.org for more information. Again thanks!

Great story. I read the whole tale after hearing the excerpt on NPR this Saturday. I sent my dog's DNA off about a month ago and I can't wait to find out!

Great article, I couldn't wait to read the next installment. I am a dog lover and can't imagine a dog not running the household.

Love the phrase what does it matter black dog etc as long as he is a good dog. Too bad city councils countrywide aren't listening to your advice. Right now in Manhattan, KS city council is proposing to ban 13 breeds, including Chows, Rotts - your dog, John.

I can't imagine my life without one of my animal friends and I've had several in my time, both mixed breed and purebred. As JW stated, our dog's ancestry doesn't really matter as long as they are good dogs and continue to enrich our lives.

Ace is a sweet, beautiful dog. To venture a guess, I see golden retriever in his face, rottweiler & German shepherd in his body. I am really enjoying this series; I adopted Isaac, a mixed shelter dog, one of the great loves of my life!I can hardly wait to find out about Ace's background!

This series is fantastic! I am enjoying it immensely and looking forward to each new part. This is much better than I've come to expect from feature articles in the Sun. Keep up the good work!

Ace is a handsome devil! We have a rescue dog - Cody. My bf picked him up in Kansas when stationed at Ft. Riley. They thought he was an Australian Cattle dog, but I think he's mixed with some type of hound. He's a darling - our Baby Boy!
