Boundaries: Conway Street to the north, Henrietta Street to the south, Charles Street to the east and Sharp Street to the west
Namesake: Old Otterbein Church, named for Philip William Otterbein, is the oldest Methodist church in Baltimore and the oldest church in continuous use in Baltimore City.
Fireproof: Otterbein was one of the more fortunate areas in the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904. The fire stopped along South Charles Street and the neighborhood was preserved.
Real estate: In 1975, lucky residents won a lottery and paid $1 each to move into their Otterbein homes.
