Though the band's first full-length album, Wave Like Home, has nine tracks, it's only 30 minutes long. It will be one of the first albums released on Wham City's new record label, Cashion said.

"I think we played the songs faster than we were used to playing," Cashion said. "We play them even faster live. ... The first Pixies album was only 30 minutes."

Future Islands performs with Ed Schrader, Quiet Hooves and Teenage Souls on Sunday at Scarey Studios, 1236 W. Pratt St. The music starts at 9 p.m. Go to myspace.com/scareystudios. The band: myspace.com/futureislands.
