Five Things I Have To Have Now
As a professional musician, pianist Seth Knopp travels the globe playing chamber music concerts. In 1983, he met Canadian violinist Violaine Melancon, and they formed a duo, both personally and professionally. Eventually the duo expanded to become the Peabody Trio, which includes cellist Natasha Brofsky. The group frequently plays in London and has made repeat appearances in Israel and Japan.
It will be back in Baltimore on Tuesday , however, to perform Ludwig's Ghosts, a program that features Beethoven's two opus 70 piano trios, "The Ghost" and the E Flat Major trio, interwoven with poetry of Goethe. The performance begins at 8 p.m. at Miriam A. Friedberg Hall, 17 E. Mount Vernon Place.
Knopp, 48, lives in Mount Washington with Melancon and their two sons.
He called us on his cell phone from the airport to give us his wish list.

"He's an avid skateboarder. He's talked about that for a number of years."
4. A week in Alaska with my wife
"I've heard that it's absolutely gorgeous. I'd love a week of hiking. And my wife has a thing for polar bears."
5. Hot zabaglione
"We had it warm when we lived in San Francisco. We've been looking for another hot version of it for the last 20 years, and we've never been able to find it."
