For some, the traditions continue -- Artscape will be returning for another year, as will the feast of eating and drinking known as the Preakness. For others, tradition may be starting -- Everyman Theatre's new home, for instance -- or reviving itself. All of Baltimore, it seems, is waiting anxiously to see if the newly high-flying Orioles can continue as contenders. Here's our list of 13 big-time A&E extravaganzas on tap for 2013. New digs for Everyman Theatre
Baltimore's Everyman Theatre, providing intimate live stage productions for area audiences since 1990, moves into new digs on Jan. 18. And what a new space it is: a 103-year-old theater building at 315 W. Fayette St. that old-timers may remember as home to The Empire (a burlesque house) and later The Town (a movie theater). Everyman's opening production: Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning "August: Osage County," which runs through Feb. 17. Go to everymantheatre.org.
