Jordan Faye Contemporary moving to Mount Vernon

Jordan Faye Contemporary is moving to Mount Vernon next month after three years in its Federal Hill location. The commercial gallery, founded and managed by Jordan Faye Block, is particularly known for showcasing local artists.

The Chicago-born Block, a MICA alum, announced Monday that her gallery would relocate to 823 Park Ave. "Beginning in mid-August, our artists' work can be viewed in the 1,400 square feet adjacent to our new offices," Block said in a press release. "Rotating installments of new artwork can be seen through periodic viewing parties and by appointment."

The final exhibit at the Federal Hill space, in an 1880s building at 1401 Light St., will be held Aug. 2 to 5. The show, the 14th Salon Series, will feature area artists chosen by Block.

In addition to the move to Mount Vernon, Block said that the gallery will seek to bring its artwork "to a larger, global audience through participation in international art fairs and exhibitions from San Francisco to Miami."
