'Hairspray: In Concert' featuring John Waters, the BSO [Pictures]
With help from a few of his friends -- including Broadway actors, Micky Dolenz of the Monkees fame, students from the Baltimore School for the Arts and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra -- John Waters brought the musical version of "Hairspray" back to Baltimore. The "semi-staged" version, complete with all the songs, the dancing and (in miniature, few-frills versions) the sets, was staged at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall Jan. 25-27.
