Temporary boutique pops up in Hilton Village

The Pop Shop by Jo Louise has returned to Hilton Village in Newport News for the spring season.

The small artsy boutique is packed with quirky and unique home décor and jewelry items from local artisans.

The temporary store launched with a wintertime opening in December.

The store, which is open Tuesday-Saturday through May 11, will host a special “Healing Arts” fundraising program on Sunday, April 14 to benefit the Peninsula Fine Arts Center of Newport News.

During the shopping event, 20 percent of the store’s proceeds will benefit the arts center. In addition to special store events, such as a raffle, shoppers can participate in two workshops, including a paint your own tile workshop and a jewelry-making workshop.

The activities cost $20 each, and all proceeds benefit the arts center.

The special event will take place from 1 to 5 p.m.

Register for workshops by emailing jolouisedesigns@yahoo.com or by calling 897-9813 by Friday, April 12.

The store is located at 10349 Warwick Blvd., Newport News.
