Zac Brown Band, J. Cole added to fall concert calendar

The fall concert calendar got a lot more colorful this week with the announcement of two big shows heading for South Hampton Roads. Rapper J. Cole and country-rock hot property Zac Brown Band are both headed this way.

Hip-hop rising star J. Cole will play Chrysler Hall in Norfolk on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The show is part of the North Carolina-born rapper’s “What Dreams May Come” tour that also features Wale. Tickets, $50.80-$72.70, go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, from Ticketmaster.

J.Cole’s song “Power Trip,” with features Miguel, is at No. 23 on Billboard’s Hot 100 pop chart.

Secondly, the Zac Brown Band will return to Farm Bureau Live at Virginia Beach on Saturday, Oct. 12. Tickets for that concert, which will also feature The Wood Brothers and DUGAS, also go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, from Ticketmaster.

Through Sunday, a limited number of lawn tickets will be priced at $27. Regular prices range from $31.50 to $64.50.

Zac Brown Band’s “Uncaged” hangs at No. 21 on Billboard’s country albums chart this week. Meanwhile, the band’s tune “Jump Right In” has reached No. 13 on the magazine’s country songs list.
