Monday's 20-17 victory over Georgia Tech was Virginia Tech's second consecutive overtime game but only the fifth in program history.
A quick rewind:
Sept. 19, 1998 –The Hokies win 27-20 at Miami on Al Clark's 24-yard pass to Ricky Hall.
Oct. 9, 2002: Despite Bryan Randall's 502 passing yards, Tech loses 50-42 at Syracuse on Damien Rhodes' 25-yard run.
Nov. 15, 2003: The Hokies survive 1-8 Temple 24-23 when Jared Davis misses a PAT in OT.
Jan. 3, 2012: Tech faithful will never forget the overrule of Danny Coale's OT touchdown catch that preceded Brendan Gibbons' 23-yard field goal that gave Michigan a 23-20 Sugar Bowl win.
Sept. 3, 2012: Cody Journell's 17-yard field goal to beat Georgia Tech marks the first time the Hokies have won on the game's final play since Shayne Graham's field goal at West Virginia in 1999.
