Representatives from the Virginia Department of Transportation and HNTB Consulstants will present Monday afternoon and evening the results of a study on the congestion and safety along the Route 17 Business/Main Street corridor.
Residents are welcome to attend the meeting that will be held at the Colonial Courthouse from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A formal presentation will be given at 5:30 p.m.
The study area includes a 2 1/2-mile section of Route 17 Business/Main Street from the south and north intersections of Route 17. The report includes an analysis of intersections that include:
--Route 14 and Main Street;
--Main Street and the Edgehill Shopping Center to include all access points;
--Main Street and Route 17 north and south intersections;
--Main Street and Roaring Springs Road;
--Belroi Road and Main Street;
--Main Street and Ware House Landing Road;
--Main Street and T.C. Walker Road;
--Key driveways in the study area.
