Peninsula District schools run in Penn Relays.

Several Peninsula District girls teams ran in the Penn Relays 400-and 1,600-meter relay qualifying races on Thursday in Philadelphia.

In the 400-meter race, Phoebus finished 35th overall in 48.83 seconds. Bethel was 41st in 49.06 and Kecoughtan 77th in 50.08.

In the 1,600-meter relay, Bethel was 32nd in 3:57.98, Phoebus was 85th in 4:02.83 and Kecoughtan 119th in 4:05.11. Woodside was 216th in 4:09.82.

None of the teams advanced to the Championship of America final. Phoebus' 400 team is the alternate for the girls' large school final race Friday afternoon.

Also, Vamonie Boddie of Phoebus ran 1:06.50 in the 400-meter hurdles.
