Peninsula-area runners won four of six varsity races Saturday in the annual Newport News Invitaitonal cross country meet at Newport News Park.
York's Jack Little won the Boys A race, running 16 minutes, 3 seconds to beat Kellam's Sean Helmke by a second.
Peninsula boys dominated the Boys B race with Peninsula Catholic's Kevin Riley, Tabb's Blake Finkenauer, Peninsula Catholic's Robert Walters and Grafton's Dylan Sydnor sweeping the top four positions.
In the Girls B race, New Kent's Becca Eudailey ran to a 25-second victory. Martine Hunnicutt of Peninsula Catholic finished third and PC's Molly McKenna was sixth.
And in the Girls C race, Denbigh Baptist's Madison Strickland ran away with the race, winning by 71 seconds in 20:44.
Two Peninsula teams won titles. Peninsula Catholic put five runners in the top 15 to win the Boys B title over Grafton. And Tabb's girls outran Smithfield and Denbigh Baptist in the Girls C race.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
