For the fourth straight week, Hampton held an opponent scoreless.
This time, the Crabbers defeated Menchville 64-0 Friday at Darling Stadium.
Hampton did the bulk of its scoring in the second quarter.
Up 7-0, Deon Newsome completed a 66-yard bomb to Trevor Arneaud for the second score of the game. On the ensuing drive, Trey Presley intercepted a pass from Menchville quarterback Tyler Mueller and returned it 25 yards for a touchdown.
Mueller threw an interception on Menchville’s next drive, which led to Newsome's 14-yard touchdown pass to Umar Muhammad-Wyatt to give Hampton a 29-0 lead.
Daquin Moore intercepted Mueller on the Monarchs’ next possession and took the ball 38 yards to the end zone to put Hampton up 36-0 at halftime.
Hampton scored twice in the third quarter: a 12-yard touchdown pass to Muhammad-Wyatt and then a 9-yard run by Roscoe Hale. The Crabbers scored twice in the fourth, on a 28-yard run by backup quarterback Joe Addison and a 72-yard run by Hale.
Hale finished with a game-high 111 yards on four carries. Newsome had 116 yards passing and three touchdowns through the air. The Crabbers’ defense picked off Mueller five times.
This marks the largest margin of victory for the Crabbers this season, and it is the fifth game in a row they scored 40 or more points.
