Williamsburg resident John Piggott was the top men’s finisher and Nicole Park, a junior at Ocean Lakes High in Virginia Beach, was the top female finisher at the Yorktown Victory Run 8-Miler.
Piggott won for the second straight year and finished in 46 minutes, 50 seconds. Park finished in 54:49.
The race started at Newport News Park and finished at the Yorktown Victory Monument.
The night's No. 1 star, Kyle Wilson, had a goal and two assists as the Norfolk Admirals won 4-1 over the host Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, moving within two points of a playoff spot.
No. 2 star Devante Smith-Pelly added a goal and an assist for the Admirals (31-28-4-1), who moved into a tie for ninth place in the Eastern Conference with the Manchester Monarchs; both have 67 points.
The Connecticut Whale is seventh with 70, and the Hershey Bears are eighth with 69. Eight of the Eastern's 15 teams will reach the postseason.
Frederik Andersen continued his hot goaltending streak, making 24 saves for the victory.
