The Peninsula Pilots (8-4) extended their winning streak to four by hammering Edenton 8-2 Tuesday night in northeastern North Carolina.
The Steamers are 1-2 against the Pilots and 8-0 against other CPL teams.
Delaware’s Zach Lopes had three hits and Iowa Western Community College’s Jason McMurray hit a two-run homer in his Pilots debut.
Newberry’s Jonathan Rosenberger pitched four innings for his first win of the season, and Mount Olive’s Derek Justice pitched four scoreless innings to close the game.
Despite nine hits, three by Quintin Berry, the Norfolk Tides (27-39) lost 4-1 to the IL-leading Durham Bulls (40-27) at Harbor Park.

Ty Blach (4-3) pitched five innings for the win. Bryan Mitchell (1-4), the starter for the Yankees' Double-A club, took the loss.
RVA FC, from Richmond, rolled past Virginia Legacy 76 8-1 in a National Premier Soccer League match at Wanner Stadium.
