Nine days ago, Phoebus' Troy Williams was all set to reveal his college decision. He had schedule a Twitter announcement for May 1 to declare a winner: Kentucky or North Carolina.
That morning, saying he "didn't feel right," he tweeted that he was postponing his announcement.
Now, Williams says he is considering adding more schools to the list he had narrowed to two -- UK and UNC -- in mid-April. His possibilities include, but are not limited to, Georgetown, Florida and Louisville.
Williams was quoted by National Recruiting Spotlight as saying the two additions to his list "will probably be Georgetown and Florida." However, he said this morning that comment was taken out of context.
"They might be," he said, addressing the possibility of the Hoyas and Gators joining the fray. "I just haven't decided yet."
Georgetown was one of Williams' five finalists, but he crossed the Hoyas off his list shortly after his aunt, Terri Williams-Flournoy, resigned as women's basketball coach to take job at Auburn. Louisville was among his early suitors.
Williams hadn't discussed Florida before. But Gators are reported to be a potential landing spot for former AAU teammate Dorian Finney-Smith, who is transferring from Virginia Tech.
Williams' uncle, Boo, said that by adding more schools to the list, Troy is not eliminating North Carolina or Kentucky.
"We're not saying it won't be UNC or Kentucky," Boo said. "He just narrowed his choices too quickly."
As for a final decision, Troy Williams now says that won't come until after the AAU season ends.
