Inside the PD: Hampton's Steve Hux named PD baseball POY

Hampton pitcher/third baseman Steve Hux was named the Peninsula District Player of the Year in coaches vote Wednesday night.

Hux, a junior, is 8-1 on the mound with wins over Menchville, Kecoughtan and Gloucester. He is the scheduled starter for Thursday night's one-game playoff against the Monarchs for the No. 1 seed in the district and automatic spot in the Eastern Region tournament.

Hux was one of five Crabbers on the first team. He was joined by shortstop Cody Seals, outfielder Yusef Davis, designated hitter Carlos Contreras and utility man Patrick Kyle.
