Inside the BRD: Bruton's Marcus Carter, Lonnie Swinton earn first team 2A All-State basketball honors

Bruton High seniors Marcus Carter and Lonnie Swinton, who led the Panthers to a 26-2 record, Bay Rivers District, Conference 33 and 2A East Region titles - as well as a runnerup finish in the 2A state tournament championship game - have been selected to the 2A All-State first team.

Carter averaged nearly 18 points and six rebounds for the Panthers, while Swinton averaged about 17 points per game with 3.5 steals per contest.
