Denbigh holds off Menchville 21-12, snaps 12-game slide

Jaquan Jenkins intercepted three passes as Denbigh snapped its 12-game losing streak Friday night with a 21-12 victory over Menchville at Todd Stadium.

It was the Patriots' first victory since their 2010 finale.

Denbigh’s Terrence Dingle threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Raekwon Bailey in the fourth quarter and ran for 86 yards on 17 carries. Patrick Alston and Donovan Scales ran for Patriots touchdowns.

Jaron Foster twice ran for Menchville touchdowns, scoring from 1 and 5 yards. But the Monarchs lost starting quarterback Tyler Mueller to an injury in the second quarter. Ed Day replaced him most of the way.

Patrick Alston scored Denbigh’s first touchdown with a 13-yard run in the first quarter.

In the second period, the Patriots recovered a fumble, then Dingle ran the ball to the 1. Donovan Scales scored up the middle.
