Track and field:
Elaina Balouris earned the third All-America award of her William and Mary career Wednesday night at the NCAA championships in Eugene, Ore.
The junior took 10th place in the 10,000-meter run in 34 minutes, 13.53 seconds -- seven places higher than her seed.
Meanwhile, Tabb High graduate Kiara Porter of VCU barely missed All-America honors. She finished the 400 meters in 53.17 seconds for 17th place, one spot below the All-America cut of 16th.
Virginia announced times for its home super regional this weekend against Mississippi State, the winner of which will advance to the College World Series.
The Cavaliers will face the Bulldogs in Game 1 at Davenport Field in Charlottesville at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Game 2, with MSU batting second, will be at 7 p.m. Sunday.
