James Madison’s men will open their season at Virginia on Nov. 8, the same night the JMU women host U.Va., the Daily News-Record of Harrisonburg reported.
The U.Va. men will play the Dukes in Harrisonburg in November 2014.
Fifth-ranked Old Dominion sits just three points out of first place with 56 after the opening day of the Dinghy National Championships in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Riding their second-place finish in the national semifinals, the Monarchs continued to stay hot Tuesday in the opening day of the national championships.
They trail only the No. 10 College of Charleston, which leads the 18-team pack with 53 points. No. 9 Dartmouth (58), No. 3 Georgetown (74) and No. 2 Yale (77) rounding out the top five.
Virginia sophomore Denny McCarthy opened play at the NCAA Championships by shooting 2-over 72 at the Capital City Club in Atlanta. McCarthy is competing as an individual in the 54-hole stroke-play portion of the championship.
McCarthy was in a tie for 66th place after the first 18 holes. He had four bogeys and two birdies.
Arizona State’s Jon Rahm jumped out to an early lead in the 156-player field, shooting 9-under 61. Rahm helped the Sun Devils take the early lead at 10-under 270. Host Georgia Tech is in second place at 6-under 274.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
