The Norfolk Admirals (30-28-4-1) ended a two-game AHL slide with a 3-0 victory over Adirondack at Scope Arena, splitting a two-game series with the Phantoms (25-33-2-3).
Frederik Andersen made 32 saves to post a shutout and was named the game's No. 1 star before 2,567 fans.
No. 2 star Kyle Wilson scored the Admirals’ first goal and assisted on Norfolk’s third, which Sami Vatanen scored. No. 3 star Patrick Maroon added two assists.
The Admirals, with 13 games left, are among numerous candidates to sneak into the final two playoff spots, being tied for ninth place in the Eastern Conference. They have 65 points, as do Albany and Manchester.
Hershey and Connecticut are tied for seventh with 68, and eight teams will qualify.
